First Edited Version of my Music Video
Editing My Music Video
For this camera shot i altered the speed of the video to 70, this produced a slow motion shot of kelly dancing during the instrumental of the song. i also reversed the speed of the shot to make the shot play in reverse. also like the rest of the music video i have put the shot in black and white to continue the black and white theme throughout.

Reflection on Ancillary Task 2
Out of 10 i would give me work a 7as it stands.
This shows that i am quite content with my products, however i feel like i could make some improvements to it to bring it up to a higher standard. I think that i could use more interactive features on the website such as the use of a QR Code which would enable the audience to interact with the website on their smart phones. i believe this would create a better a better website and would reach larger audiences as a lot of people these days have a smart phone with a QR Code reader. i think that i could also include some more of the images which i took in the photography studio at Shiney Row which would allow me to show off my images and give different views of the artist that i have created.

Facebook Feedback of Website Draft 3
i uploaded a print-screen of the third draft of my website to Facebook. I asked for feedback from the people on my friend list on Facebook in order to gather their opinion of my product. the comments were made by people who would fit into my target audience, therefore showing that my product is appealing to my audience. The changes that i made from draft 2 have clearly had a positive impact on my product as the feedback was all positive.
To Do List
- Story board for Music Video
- Shot list for Music Video
- Print story board and shot list and give them to cast members
- Contact the owner of location for filming
- Permission for the usage of the song in the music video
- Start filming my music video
- Editing the music video
Communication with Cast Members
i used the social media network Facebook to ask my cast members if they would be able to participate in filming on the 27th of November. This allowed me to get a quick response from the members as it is a popular social network which a vast amount of people use. It also has a feature which enables me to review whether or not the person that i am contacting has seen or ready my message, this allows me to know they they received the message.

Ancillary Task - Website: Draft 3
i have made some changes since the last draft. i have took on board the suggestions of my peers from the peer feedback that i received. I added in some colour to the page to add to create an house style for the website and also make the website look more professional and to improve the general look of the site.
i have also added in a slider where the gallery images are shown so when you place your mouse over the images they slide along constantly in a conveyor belt motion.furthermore i have also added a play button to the fake YouTube video under the 'music' tab which plays the song that i will be using on my music video when you press the play button.
Time Management/ Aims
This lesson i hope to achieve a shot-list for my music video, this will help me know exactly what i am going to do on the day of filming. I will give a copy of this to my cast members too so that they are aware of what they are expected to do on the day of filming.
I also hope to achieve a completed storyboard which will also help me know exactly what i am going to do on the day(s) of filming the music video, i will also give a copy of this to the cast members so that it is clear what they are expected to do. Doing a story-board will also keep filming the music video structured which will help me know exactly what shot i need to use where when it comes to editing.

Peer Feedback: Website
Do you disagree with any feedback?
i do not disagree with any of the feedback that i received as it was mainly positive. i agree with the comments made as i also think that i could introduce some colour onto the website which i think would make it complete.
Has it helped and why?
it has helped me as the people i received peer feedback from are in my target audience, this will allow me to alter my website according to the needs and wants of my target audience. So i now know that introducing more colour to the page would make a better website.
How will you act on this feedback?
i will act on this feedback by making the changes that my peers and target audience suggested i make to the website. i will keep the same layout as this was one of the positive points made on average from my target audience

Ancillary Task - Website Homepage: Draft 2

Ancillary Task- Website Homepage: Draft 1
To create my website i used the online software WIX, it allows you to choose a template as a guideline for creating your own website. From there I changed fonts, added images and wrote text giving the website my own twist. There are several tools which I used in order to create the final product such as the image and text tool which allowed to me upload my own images and change fonts to create a house style for the website. I took some elements from the website research such as placing the navigation bar at the top of the page making them clear to see and read, allowing the user easily navigate through the pages. The main features on the page are: the gallery- showing previews of images that can be found in the gallery, music- showing a clip of a youtube video which will allow the audience to listen to the music and get a taste of what they have to offer, Latest news- allowing the audience to see recent updates by the artist about important news updates and tour dates- giving the audience the date and location of the tour with the option to 'buy tickets'. I also thought it was important to include images from my other product (CD Cover) to link to two elements together. At the bottom of the page I included three social networking systems that are Facebook, Twitter and Google + this will allow me to connect to different media platforms to reach a wider audience.

Flant plan of Ancillary Task 2: Website
Below this is the Banner which runs across the top of the page, this will have a large image of the artist, most likely the one which is on the front of the CD Cover. this will link the two ancillary tasks in with each other, i will also use the same text seen on the CD cover to show the artists name to create familiarity of the artist with for the audience.
After this, on the left side of the page will be images of the artist seen on a scroller which moves when the viewer of the website hovers their mouse over the images.
on the right hand side of the page will be a youtube video of the music video that i am going to make, it will have the song which i am using on my music video featured here which the viewer of the page will be able to play due to a play button on the page.
Below this is where the tour dates will be shown, with the dates in a large font and the location in a smaller font to allow the audience to see when they would be able to see the artist.
On the left to this is where a series of comments will be posted by the artist to show what she is up too and her future plans.
At the bottom of the page will be the copyright of the page along with the web address, opposite to this will be logos of the social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram. This will create a relationship with the audience as they are probably familiar with these social networks so it may be likely that they would check out the artist using these other media platforms to get more information about them and their life.
Preliminary Task - Website Inspiration
Paramore
This is a print-screen of the website for the band 'Paramore'. Along the top of the website there are options for 'home, blogs, videos, photos, music, shows and stores' this helps the user navigate through the website easily to find what they desire. there is also a slide show of images across the top of the page which gives an insight into what the band look like, how they perform and the things that they get up too in their spare time. right through the middle of the page is a 'news' sections which give you the latest information about the band such as their performances at 'itunes festival' and their tour information. this keep the audience in the know about the latest happenings of the band.
Blink 182
This is a screen print of the homepage of the website for the band blink 182. Its lay out is simple, along the top of the page there are options for 'login' , 'FAQ' and contact us. The website could be easier to navigate through if there was other options as this navigation bar is limited due to the face there isn't any other obvious buttons you could use to navigate through the website. Upon creating my website i will make sure that i make the website easy to access different pages for all types of users. The middle section of the website advertises things such as new merchandise items and the release of the new EP. The band has a clear logo on the you tube video which gives the band a brand and makes the band more recognisable.
Halestorm
This is as printscreen of the website for the band Halestorm. Innitially the website homepage isnt very attractive due to the bland beige colour scheme of the website, although it does set a house style for the website which is something i need to consider when i create my website. furthermore,m like the paramore website, the website has a clear navigation bar which makes it easy to access any required pages. alon the top of the website page there is an option to sign in or join the website, this includes the audience into the website and makes them feel more involved with the band. This is aspect of the website in which i will be using when creating my website as i would like to invite the audience to get involved in the bands website and feel part of something.

Time Mangment
I am up to the point where i am about to begin working on my Website page for my second ancillary task, i have the images which i will be using on the website and i also have a completed CD Cover which i will be able to promote on the website page.
After i have completed this i am going to create a shot list and a story board for my music video, this will help me finalise what i will be shooting on the day of filming so that i don't waste time by trying to choose which type of shot and angle i should use for a particular scene of the music video.

Images i Am Using in My Product
These are the images that i have chosen to use out of the 28 images that i have taken. I chose these images as they are the most appropriate for my CD cover. i asked the model to specifically wear the costume that she has on to link the music video and the CD cover together as i will have a 1950's style theme running through the music video. I also asked my model to wear her makeup specifically this way (red lips and black eyeliner) to also link to what she will look like in the music video too.

Editing Images for the Inside Sleeves
on the right hand side is the original image which was taken at the photography studio at Shiney Row. The image is made up of two layers which were two separate images, to get rid of the grey background i used the paint bucket tool to make the background white, this made the silhouette stand out more against the background image. I am going to use this image for one of the inside sleeves of my CD cover.

Editing images using Ribbet
To edit the image i used a select few tools to achieve the final edit seen at the bottom of the page.
First i used the 'mascara' tool in order to define the models eyelashes and eye make up, darkening it to make her eye stand out more and make the make-up look perfect.
The second tool i used was the airbrush tool, this allowed me to even out the skin tone and give a more professional image as seen in other music albums.
The next tool which i used was the highlights tool, i used this tool to change the models hair colour from a green/grey colour into a chocolate brown colour.
i used these tools in order to give a professional look to the artist, although i did not want to over-edit the image as i did not want it to look like she had been airbrushed.

Studio Images
For the images used within the CD cover i went to the photography studio at Shiney Row college. This allowed me to achieve the goal of making the images within the cover look professional giving the audience a better perception of the artist and making the images a better quality. Out of the 28 images that i have taken i will choose the most appropriate and best quality images to suit what my cd cover is trying to achieve. i took a variety of images taken at different angles in order give me a range of images to choose from.

Time Management
Today i will be going into the photography studio at Shiney Row in order to take images for my CD cover for the inside pages, and for the second ancillary task.
I will then use the time i have off this week to start editing my images to get them looking professional by using different softwares such as Adobe Photoshop and Ribbet.

RECCE For Filming - Studio
One potential hazard of the studio based filming may cables on the floor from the lighting in the studio, this is a potential hazard as someone could trip over the wire and possible gain an injury.
To minimise this hazard i will move the wires out of any pathways in the studio and make others aware of where the wires are so that they do not trip over.
The weather is not a problem for this part of filming as it will be shot indoors with artificial lighting, so this will not be an issue.
The background of the shoot will be white, as it will be shot in a studio. Although this can be changed when it comes to film editing if i wish for it to be a different colour.
Lighting of the image will not be an issue as the lighting will be provided by the flash of the camera along with the lighting in the studio, this will allow me to keep the film looking professional.
The only permission i need to take the images is booking the studio, this is to make sure that there are no classes trying to use the studio at the same time so myself and the people i will be filming with can have the studio to ourselves.
I will not be reliant on lifts to get to the studio as i live in walking distance of the Shiney Row photography studio. The main subject in the video and throughout my work is committed to helping my achieve my final outcome as she is a good friend, furthermore i am also helping her out by featuring in her video. Both my and my friend Kelly will provide the props and costume, including makeup and hair styling that i will need for my video.

CD Cover-Back Page: Draft 2
i have altered the size of the song titles seen on the left of the page, i have also added in the record label Fueled By Ramen. This is a record company who produce the song which i am using for my music video. Furthermore i removed the dark shadow that was over the Bar Code i also darkened down the colours on the image on the right of the page to make the outline stand out more on the page. At the bottom of the cover i added the URL address of the website to link the products together and allow the audience to explore the artist further.
Editing Original Images
To create the background for my CD cover i used the slow release setting on the camera which allowed me to draw shapes with light. i created the light from an app on my ipod touch in which the screen flashed multiple colours. i overlayed the images ontop of eachother to create the final effect of the finished product. (as shown below in the print screens). i also deleted the background of each image so that the image could overlay without any parts of black background blocking the images behind. i used the magic easor tool to achieve this, using the normal erasor to get rid of any parts which were not deleted by the magic erasor. i also changed the brightness of the images to make the colours stand out even more than previous, as the main image is dark so it will aid it to stand out.

Peer Feedback of Ancillary Task
Do you disagree with any feedback?
i generally agree with the feedback that i have received as there was some ideas suggested that i though could have been adapted. such as, making the main image of the front cover stand out more against the background. Another suggestion was to change the image to a different camera angle so that the subject in the image is facing straight at the camera rather than slightly angled. i disagree with one comment which states that the image is too dark, this is only because the background of the image is so bright that the image needs to be dark in order for it to stand out on the page.
Has it helped and why?
It has helped me as i can assess some of the things in which i need to change to make a better version of my product. furthermore the peer assessment was conducted by people who are in my target audience which will allow me to alter my product according to the needs and wants of the audience.
How will you act on this feedback?
i will act on my feedback by making the changes which were suggested by my peers. This will help to make my product the best it can be, i will use photoshop to make these changes as this is the program i used to produce my front and back of the cd cover.

Original Images used in Ancillary Task
Original Images for Ancillary
The animoto video that i have created contains the original image which i had taken specifically for the creation of my CD cover.
Ancillary Task -CD Cover
i used the editing program photoshop in order to create this product, using all my own images (appart from the bar code).
The font which i have used to create the name of the artist, name of CD and names of songs was a font called 'Death from Above' which i was able to get in the colour white with a black background. i was then able to edit the font by using the magic eraser tool to remove the background in order for any images behind the text to be seen clearly.
I edited both of the images using photosho by applying an effect and then going over the effect with the paint brush tool which allowed me to make the outline of the effect to stand out more on the page.
To create the background on the front cover i overlayed three images which i can taken by using the slow release setting on my camera. i created the star background on the back of the CD cover in the same way.

Song Permission
In order to use the song for my music video i had to email send an email to request the permission, if i do not receive a response from the label then i will assume that i am able to use the song. To get the contact information i went onto the Paramore website where it came up with a list of contact details which i used in order to apply for permission.
Song Chosen for Music Video
I have chosen the song (one of those) Crazy Girls for the music for my video because the song isn't a typical rock song, this will make is stand out against other rock songs and make for a memorable performance. The song starts off quite slow but speeds up as it reaches the chorus, this will allow me to use a variety of shots which move in time with the music.
Facial Expression Theorists
I have researched the theorist Marjorie Ferguson (1980s) who looked into facial expressions of people on the front of magazines in which she came up with 4 different types: chocolate box, invitational, super-smiler and sexual or romantic.
This is something that i will consider when producing my CD cover as i want to project a certain image of the artist. i think the most suitable for my CD cover would be Chocolate box as it has eye contact with the camera therefore making a connection with the audience.
Another is Trevor Millum (1990s), he suggested 5 different expressions:
Seductive
Similar to cool/ level
Eyes less wide
Expression is less reserved but still self-confident
Milder
Carefree
Nymph like
Active
Healthy
Vibrant
Outdoor girl
Often smiling/ grinning
Practical
Concentrating
Engaged in business in hand
Mouth closed
Eyes object directed
Sometimes a slight frown
Hair often tied back or short style
Comic
Deliberately ridiculous
Exaggerated
Acting the fool
Pulling faces
Catalogue
A neutral look as of a dummy, artificial, wax like
Features may be in any position- but most likely to be with eyes open
wide and a smile
Looks remain vacant and empty with personality removed
